This is the DNC strategy on Romney?

Pay for a guy to fly around and follow Romney around the country to tell his story to the press about being laid off from a company that was bought by Romney's company? A company that was unionized and refused to renogotiate its contract? wow, you are not going to get much sympathy this way...

if you read the story behind this man you'd think the DNC could have found a more sympathetic characte to put on parader.
that is a pretty thin stretch.
I know there must be people who can more closely tie a lost job to Romney

Does the Democratic party really need a plan for Romney at this point? I think the GOP has already done a fine job of letting it be known that he isn't conservative enough for their conservative base and then that his socialist big idea of healthcare for all in his home state are now what the new fractions of the party stand for. He is capturing a good portion fo the current votes in the GOP primaries but he isn't garnering real support from the conservative core or new tea party fractions. Though I am sure as this goes on if he is the front-runner that they will all line up behind him. But seriously, that party is broken.

The GOP is splintered. That is what I am getting at. I don't think they have a shot at this Presidential election regardless but I don't think it is helping them that they have become so fractured. I have said this over the past year but I think it bears repeating. The Tea party should stand on its own feet and separate itself from the GOP. I just don't think they have the same core goals.

not to derail the thread, but are the tea party folks actually new to the republican party? I would be very surprised to hear any substantial portion of them were ever anything but republicans.

I sure never ran into any of them at the democratic precinct conventions I have attended over the years. Or the county conventions or state conventions.

My friends who are tea partiers have been iron clad republican voters since they were pups.

Pretty big consensus at my Tea Party watching debate parties that anybody is better than Obama.

Don't worry about the GOP being fractured, worry about your Obama spin for the last 3 years, you are going to need it to make it even close.

BO's numbers in swing states are really bad. This explains his very unpresidential behavior. He has to swing for the fence, its his only shot.

All Romney needs to do is appear credible. So far, he's doing fine.
