This bus driver must be an OU grad

I am not going to defend her or her disposal of waste because that is gross. But I will say that on many routes, moreso not of UT Shuttles, there are routes with no proper restroom facilities for quite some distance. The places with proper ones are not designated as legit or sanctioned stopping points. A driver is in a tough spot.

I know of many males who have urinated in a bottle and then poured that bottle into a urinal later on. It is tougher for a woman. The drivers get a lot of scrutiny and verbal abuse sometimes from supervisor's for stopping at a non-designated location to use the restroom.

The company and school system will lie and say they would never do such a thing if a driver had to use the restroom in a non-designated spot. What happens and what they say are two different things. An issue with this is that yes there are some drivers who abuse it and stop at a restaurant or eating facility and pretend to really need the restroom. But this does happen and more than people want to think.

My routes and our routes as a whole have plenty of places to use the restroom without too much of a time gap between them. This is not the case in many other circumstances.

What that driver did was gross but I wonder what places she could have pulled over to use the restroom in along her route. Did she just not plan right? Did she have some medical issue she should have gotten looked at?

She was fired for lying to her bosses about it. I wonder why she did that? Was she scared of what they would do to her anyway? There are a lot of circumstances and issues that are unknown but the fact is that the footage is yucky and she made bad choices.

How about there being no breaks or lunches whatsoever? You are subject to the schedule and lay over between laps, period. There is nowhere in the schedules that put in a 15 minute or any minute time for eating or facilities. If you are on time and get to your layover spot you have a couple of minutes ranging from 2 to maybe 5 or sometimes more but not much.

The company says that if a driver needs to eat or use facilities to get rid of or consume water they can do it, call in your down time. But the pressures they try to put on a driver as well as other drivers who try to run hot or fast can be a lot to handle for some.

I don't let it bother me and I take care of what I have to. The schedule goes out the window instead of bags of fecies or urine. If I need to go, I go. If I need to eat, I eat, period. But many drivers afraid to take the company's word or rhetoric don't and suffer out of fear and the sometimes implied pressure of management. They say one thing but do another to the employees.

I have been told that there is an exception for the transportation industry that allows them to not include breaks and lunch for drivers even working 7,8 or 9 hour shifts straight. Supposedly the short layovers in perfect conditions and traffic is enough. I have never thought to check into that claim since I am not affected by it and take my time when and if I need it.

But if you look at a schedule you will not see any break in time at all for these purposes, period. I feel for that driver but still, they could have handled it differently and I don't just mean not tossing bags out. That is gross.

l00p, you would have a point if this were a one-time offense. But based on the neighbors' comments, this sounds like patterned behavior--for some reason, the bus driver repeatedly crapped into a plastic bag after dropping off her last kid and then tossed that bag out the window.

I can't imagine any physical condition, policy shortcoming, or routing issue that would mitigate the driver's disgusting and disturbing behavior. It sounds like a mental illness to me.

That or being very lazy. I am not excusing her actions as there are other things to do. I am appalled and disgusted by her actions even if done once. I am glad she lost her job and would not mind other charges being mounted on her. What she did is gross. I hope that my posts above don't condone what she did or how she did it. What she did was ******.

Not at all the kind of movement I hoped to see from this thread.

She used to be the No. 2 driver for her company. Now, her dreams of ascending to No. 1 have gone down the toilet!

When she got home that night, and her husband asked her if anything interesting happened at work- I wonder what she said in response..

Well, I peed in a bag, again. Other than that- not much.
