Third OU Decommit to Tech

Buyer remorse after realizing they committed to live and play outside the state of Texas?
It is also clear that Tech does not quit recruiting based on players' verbal committments. I don't know how different they are than other schools in this regard.

"Texas Tech is no longer cleaning up on the residual instate talent left over by Texas and Oklahoma anymore -- it is actually competing for some of the states better players."

Who are they talking about?

While I find this as a funny headline, the guys the sooners have lost are not super stars and they are still getting some good recruits late. There class is getting to be pretty good heading into signing day. Does anyone know if they are still in the hunt for any of the big names outstanding yet?

OU lost WIll Ford and and Eric Ward to Tech...

Mahoney was cut loose... He is not going to make his grades.

in addition to the 3 ou decommits, tt also won a fairly intense recruiting battle versus the sooners for the services of qb, jacob karam.

there's a better than decent chance as well that tt signs two more 4 star types on nsd.

Kids are notoriously fickle engineer, especially as it gets closer to signing day. Out of curiosity though, since I haven't seen okie lose three verbals in a row this quickly, is something going on within the staff that's causing some second thoughts? I ask because you're better plugged-in to what's going on in Norman.

It's interesting, I was trying to remember the last player who actually committed to UT and backed out...I guess it would be Brantley or Perri-loser, the quarterbacks who never were for us.

Another quarterback...I'm starting to see a pattern here.

Dodge had good reason to back out...and head up to Denton to help 'Ol Dad out.

the suggestion by ouengineer that ford shouldn't count because he wasn't committed that long is silly.

ford committed to ou in april. he then committed to tt in late june.

as far as ut decommittments, didn't the gooch kid (ol) do that? he stayed at tt a year or so and is no longer with their program either.

Pharmd I guess you misunderstood... He is not going to make it into Tech either according to those in the know.

Don't think there is really a pattern on QBs as much as circumstance.

Perrilouser - after the Rose, knew he had no chance to beat out Vince. Wanted to start as a frosh and thought he could at LSU. Still wow.
Brantley - family ties won out
Dodge - same as Brantly, just stronger.
