Think we are officially Team of the Decade

We will now have 5 final four finishes - 2 NCs, one runner-up, one 3rd place, and one still TBD.

LSU can win the NC to tie us and Oregon State at 2, but neither of those teams have the overall excellence we have had these past 10 years.

Congrats to Augie and the Horns on a great decade of Longhorn baseball, and let's finish it out on top!!!

Florida

basketball - 2 NCs
baseball - 1 runner-up

I think Florida can make a pretty good case, especially if you give more weight to football and basketball, which you should.

It was never in doubt. Congrats to the Horns on a terrific decade of baseball, one that isn't over. I love college baseball. It saddens me my alma mater sucks so bad these days. Our coach is terrible. And he's back for another year. Terrible.

As for athletic departments, no Texas is not #1. It's either USC, UCLA, or Stanford. If you want to count the big two plus baseball, Florida wins easily. Texas is up there though.

because one of the players took a lot of $$$$$ and other illegal benefits? how does that make USC's athletic department cheaters? The wanna-be agents who gave Reggie Bush money were not associated with USC in any way. The question is should USC have known what Reggie Bush and his family were up to hundreds of miles away?

Baseball Texas clearly wins, football and basketball you would have to say Florida. Overall it is probably Stanford because of their absolute dominance of Directors cup for however many years in a row.

Congrats to Augie and lets end the decade of dominance in style.

Floyd haha...what an idiot if that whole thing about him giving Guillory money out in the open is true.

Even if it isn't true, Floyd dealt with and allowed a known runner/handler to hang around the program, the NCAA identified Guillory as a known runner and violator of NCAA rules long ago. He wanted Mayo that badly I guess. Floyd and USC basketball deserves what they get.

overall? we have the sears cup to show us that stanford wins every year... we're definitely not speaking of overall athletic departments. stanford has teams from bad mitton to fencing to water polo to football, etc.... there is no comparison.

Stanford won recent championships in water polo, syncrhoized swimming, and boys gymnastics. I would actually be ashamed in our school if we fielded teams where guys wear leotards and grope each other and play with floaty balls in a pool while wearing bananna hammocks.

Of course if the BCS hadn't screwed up, it may well have been 2 football NCs for Texas and 1 for Florida.

Even if we win it all next year, I still will never be over that crock of $&^% in 2008.
