Hey guys,

I got a sweet internship in LA with Boeing from June - December (one school semester off!) and was wondering if yall knew any good spots I should hit while I am away. One of my friends is in the SC band, so he said he's gonna give me a few tickets. I'm for sure gonna do this during the games . . .

haha. But anyway, anything that I should DEFINITELY do while I am in Los Angeles?

Hit The Standard pool on a Sunday afternoon. But get there early before they start charging.

Saddle Ranch for food. Weekends go for the all you can drink bloody mary and mimosas.

I believe Boeing's office is in El Segundo. I recommend you try to live near there, so you'll be able to avoid a long commute. Look into Hermosa Beach and manhattan beach primarily. You'll have a great time in that part of town during the summer months. There are a lot of young 20 somethings in Hermosa.

You'll be in town long enough to enjoy most of what LA has to offer. Things to do during your time here:
- Go to Hollywood (nightlife and during the day)
- Visit the Getty museum
- Visit the Griffith observatory
- Day trip to san diego, santa barbara, and palm springs
- Learn to surf
- Bring a bike w/you (if you live in Hermosa/Manhattan/El Segundo). Will be helpful to ride along the beach
- Go to the Texas Exes events. Especially, the football watch parties at Mr. Pockets in Manhattan Beach.
- Go to the good USC games (Ohio St./USC) if your friend can get you free tickets
- Eat at In and Out Burger
- Go up to Malibu for a day. Visit El Matador State Beach.

Keep LAktownhorn AWAY from Mr. Pockets!!!

He's HORRIBLE luck!!!!
But Mr. Pockets is a great place to watch a game.

And if Manhattan Beach & Hermosa Beach are a little expensive, trying actually living IN El Segundo
. It's not quite as nice, but it should be less expensive and you'll be right there.

It is a little like a small town, so when you go out, you will have to drive down to Manhattan Beach (1 mile... maybe) or Hermosa Beach (2-3 miles), but traffic will be lighter at those times.

1. Pursue your dream of becoming an actor/waiter.
2. Develop a coke habit.
3. Sit in traffic.
4. Lose to Texas in the Rose Bowl.

Thats what everyone else does there.

Another positive about El Segundo is that the best surfing in the South Bay is actually a part of Manhattan Beach that juts up to steal EL PORTO BEACH from El Segundo.

If you look at a map, you can tell which city was founded First!

1st) Manhattan BEACH
2nd) El SEGUNDO

I've always thought that El Segundo was underrated. It is kind of like a bit of small town America sandwiched between the South Bay beach towns & LAX. Look into it.
