'they've got all kinds of problems'

per jay bilas just now on gameday...there ain't a thing to say that sums it up better than that. defense, offense, free throws, coaching, and round and round it goes. Aldrih, Collins, and the monsters from Kansas looming. Not good. Media is calling us out and seem madder about our ineptness than our team and players do!

They have problems, but Bilas never used the words in the title of this post. He led off his discussion with an answer to another analyst's question: "What's wrong with the Longhorns?"

Bilas responded with: "There are so many things that it's hard to count them." He then mentioned offense and free throws, but never mentioned coaching or defense.

Bilas then said Texas did everything "about as well if not better than Oklahoma throughout the game. Oklahoma shot it better earlier on in the game, but if they [Texas} make their free throws they win."

"They need to get in the Gym and practice without having to prepare for a game. They are not able to work on them [themselves], they are having to work on upcoming opponents and when you play as tough a stretch as they have played, sometimes you get mired in your own problems and it gets worse on you and I think that's what they are going through right now."

Digger then said they need to get Dexter Pittman involved: "They are not showing any inside play at all."

Hubert Davis then said he thought "Texas and Purdue were the two best defensive teams in the country at the beginning of the year" and that Texas was now not playing defense. Davis thought all the players except Balbay wanted to shoot and were not playing together as well as they should.

blow u was hot from 3 pt range....as bad as Texas looked, making FTs down the stretch and Texas wins.

Sweet 16 max if they keep missing FT like this. It is very hard to win a close game with their FT %.

This team has second round upset written all over them that is if they dont implode after a blowout loss to Kansas which very well may happen tomorrow night. Winning ten games in Big XII play seemed to be the floor three weeks ago now I have a hard time seeing how they get to ten wins in conference and finish higher than fourth.

And yes I know we have the talent to turn it around starting Monday but what evidence is there that this is on the verge of happening.

Ten conference wins is still very possible, even likely. It was only three weeks ago that some posters around here were asking where 3 conference losses could be found.

Well, we've found them.

Remaining tough games

KU home
MIssouri away
A&M away
Baylor away

Games in Lubbock are always difficult, but Texas should win that one, as it should win the other remaining home games. Win those, win in Lubbock, win one of the four toughest remaining games, and Texas finishes 10-6 in conference.

I don't see the team going into a complete meltdown. I still see 10-6. I doubt Texas will finish higher than that, but I'm not giving up hope for better.

If you would have told me before the year that halfway through the conference schedule we would be ecstatic with 10 wins, I would have thought you were crazy.

This season is already a disappointment. How can we have this much talent and suck this bad?
