The Who

Meh...

Rush would have been better if they were going to throw some old farts out there. Stage was cool though.

As a teenager, I grew up on their music and loved it. But this was the worst show in some time. I saw a tweet that said the reason the drummer was getting so much camera time is because he was the only one not connected to an oxygen tank.

Would have liked to see a more contemporary band. BTW, Daltrey is 65 and Townshend is 64.

They rocked!! I loved it. I saw them live in 1979 at the Erwin Center and they still sound the same. I have a friend who was kind of "meh" about them tonight and I thought WTF did he see? They rocked like The Who rocks. End of story.

I thought it was one of the better halftime concerts. Nice effects and great to hear rock classics. I just wish Pete would have smashed a guitar into an amp.

After acts such as Britney Spears and the wardrobe malfunction, the SB decided,

WE WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN!!

I've never been a huge Who fan but the show was actually pretty good. I was pleasantly surprised.

As far as the NFL only trusting "old farts" ever since JJ's wardrobe malfunction-- I guess you could say Prince is old, but he's certainly been pretty controversial over the years.,,

The Who's music is timeless and I love them, being a geezer like them, but they sounded God awful tonight. Probably the acoustics.

I think everyone needs to post their age on this thread because that may shine some light on your posts.

I am 36 and believe that most of the audience under 35 said - oh this is the group that wrote the theme for CSI.

what the ****?

I thought it was a ******* disgrace.

The Who lipsyncing like a bunch of jerkoff backstreet boys. I was embarrassed for them.

It was horrible. Horrible. Horrible.

Townsend should be more ashamed of this performance than downloading kiddie porn.

I'm on the fence here:
Yes, The Who will always be one of the classic acts and will go down as one of the best ever.

BUT...they have already gone down. You need to know when to hang it up. Only a die hard fan could really say tonight's performance was great. The music is timeless but the body ain't. Listen to some live recordings of The Who and then listen to tonight's halftime "show." They sounded like one of those CD's where the classics are redone by someone other than the original artists.

I actually hate to see things like this. It's kind of like watching Michael Jordan playing with the Wizards and various other greats who try to come back too many times and kind of tarnish their legacy.

I thought it was gay. I thought is was lame. I thought is was an embarrassment for the NFL, football fans and America. Is that the best we can do? Seriously? Pathetic. The list of bands that could have done better is LOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG indeed.

Pinball Wizard????????? Give me a ******* break. I'm 40 years old and even I thought this was HOPELESSLY out of touch.
