The Western Conference on Easter Sunday

I personally will be looking for redemption today at the American Airlines Center and hoping to see my Mavs rise again (with apologies to anyone that this religiously offends).

In viewing the Western Conference standings there is absolutely no way to predict the final standings. HOWEVER, as a Mavs homer there is a game today that I thnk will greatly affect the final standings, even moreso than the Mavs-Spurs, and that is the Lakers-Warriors.

Since the Mavs are not going to finish 1st in the West, that can be conceded to the Lakers,....and I would like the Warriors to lock-up the 8th seed. That would produce a great 1st-round match-up, not to mention eliminate one very tough nemesis for the Mavs should the Mavs be fortunate enough to advance in the playoffs.

A long-winded way to say today could be truly miraculous...the Horns advance to Sweetness, the rising again of the Mavs and the Lakers, and digging a deeper hole for the Warriors.

I had floor seats at the Sun / Rockets game last night.

The playoffs are going to be fun this year.

It looked to be a knee. The big question is whether it's a tear or a sprain.

What got me watching bits and pieces of the game is how bad Jason Kidd is offensively. Sure, he's a great passer but no one seriously guards him so the Mavs are basically playing 4 on 5.

Why did they make that trade again?

I was a supporter (and still am though my courage is fading) of the trade, and what bothers me is that they were okay with giving up Stackhouse and he's one that has benefited greatly from having Kidd and without him the Mavs would be D-E-A-D.

When Dirk went down today he looked like a deer that had been hit on the highway. I thought they were going to have to get a crane to get him out of there. Hope he's able to return for the playoffs, but even so this team is on life support.

No dice. Warriors over the Lakers today. They play again tomorrow, at Oracle. Lakers sans Bynum and Gasol.

Warriors and Mavs play twice in the coming ten days. Mavs apparently sans Dirk. And Baron Davis typically abuses Kidd.

How do the Mavs match-up with the Hornets?
