Saw breaking news today that Weiner is now going to run for president. Attorney general Eric Holder is going to be his running mate. Weiner/Holder ticket.
 
I either wanted him to step down or get back to work. He was elected to do a job and if he isn't going to do it and take time off then somebody else needs to take over for him and get the job done. Anybody that wanted him out or demanded that he step down just never made sense to me. Other politicians, such as Gingrich, have actually cheated on their spouse and remained in office. It is really a personal matter. Those who dislike him for it should simply not re-elect him in the future. But since he decided it was best for himself personally to take time off for something that really isn't a medical disease then I felt he should step down. So glad it is happening.
 
It's much easier for a lying scumbag to be effective politically when the national media isn't focused on what a lying scumbag you are. Now we'll all have forgotten about him by the next erec ... I mean next election.
 
well, he stayed with his convictions and stuck it out as long as he could; some say it was too long, others say not long enough.

there just wasn't any way he could get out of the hole he was in.

Gingrich had affairs before he ever ran for office so I dont really understand your point. it was common knowledge and he got elected.

why doesnt anyone see the real issue? it isn't that wiener cheated, he technically didn't other than in his mind. he lied about it to his constituents and the media, blamed others in the media, and flaunted the lie by calling press conferences and requested interviews to lie some more and asked others to lie for him. If he had admitted it in the beginning, it would have gone away. Once you lie to the press at the level he did and show them up like that, they won't quit until you are destroyed. Also, there are pictures and more stories which keeps the story going. He is a distraction and the reality is, he was nothing more than a pitbull for the democratic party. He was a political climber and would say and do anything to get on top. He is no longer that pitbull, but rather a punchline. Therefore, the democrats have little use for him. He wasnt well liked and it appears he married purely for political purposes. why else would he be doing this within a year of being married? he did marry the top aid and confidant to the clintons and he has dated a lot better looking tail in his day. now that he is gone, he will stop being a distraction for the democrats. wiener will be fine, he has a lot of political contacts and will probably wind up on a news program on cnn or msnbc and he can get back in politics in about 4 years.
 
Weiner got stuck causing Democrats to become a little squeamish. Personally, I think it all was made a bigger stink than it should have been. In the end, though, it was his own hole that was too hard for Weiner to get out of.
 
I feel sorry for the poor kid that is going to eventually learn what dear Daddy was doing while he or she was in the womb.
