The wedding video everyone is talkling about...

That is terrible. If I got wind that either of my kids were going to pull some **** like that, I wouldn't attend.

That's what the reception is for.

And that ends my old crusty man rant. (I'm 32, btw)

That was awesome. As many weddings as I have been too, that would be one that I would remember!!!!!!

By the way I am a man and 40!!!

anyone that has a problem with that needs to get right with Jesus.

their day and it should be celebrated the way they want. looked like fun. not something i'd do. i plan to be carried down the aisle on a stair cased throne.

Personally, I don't think that's appropriate for a church. It's not their house, it's God's house. And the wedding itself, at its fundamental level is a celebration (and if you're Catholic, a sacrament) for the community, e.g. the parents, the Church, etc. That said, the ettiquite part if not that big of a deal for me.

I just think it's low rent. There are a couple of things in life you just don't low rent. One is your education and the other is your wedding. Couples ALWAYS regret doing something like this at their wedding when they go over the day years afterwards. I have a friend who fancied herself very chic and too cool for the white traditional gown and wore a black dress at her wedding. She always regrets the decision.

Wedding parties frequently dance into the reception...they couldn't just wait till then? They just couldn't help themselves and had to put on a Tony dance number at church? To each their own I suppose.

Mamma Mia!

That was cool.

On the Today show the bride said she took dance all through college and it was something she had always wanted to do. The parents and minister knew about it and were on board, so I am assuming the church had said OK. This being the case, I don't see why there should be any problem.
I thought it was really cool; something I probably would not have the guts to do. My wedding was nothing like that, but is wasn't especially traditional either. Like I said earlier, seems to just make you smile (though not everyone, obviously).

I thought it was wonderful. I wish I could have been there -- the joy in that sanctuary was beautiful.

Dancing is one of the many ways God has given us to express joy!

I've never seen the 'Church Wedding Rules', but if they wouldn't allow this, they should be revised. What...is Jesus' home just for funerals?

The best wedding video ever. The unadulterated joy brought a tear to my eye.

The marriage may well end in divorce, but something tells me it has a better chance than most.

not cup of tea, but if it's fine for them and their church, then super.

The church i was married in wouldn't be upset with so much the dancing or joyful celebration, but would be upset with the choice of music. Like many churches, they do not allow secular music to be played during a religious ceremony. "Here Comes the Bride" is not allowed, so i don't think a Chris Brown is going to pass muster.

But each church is different.

that looked like a bunch of dorky white people reanacting the "triple rock" church scene from Blues Brothers.

Saw it last night. Looked funny and nice. The only thing that I was thinking was if I were a groomsmen, I woudln't want to be rehearsing this 20 times. Ie, some of the dudes aren't trained dancers and you could tell they were trying hard to get the moves down. That means they must have practiced it a ton.

Yes, in her interview the bride said they only practiced about an hour and a half the Thursday before the wedding; everybody just kind of came up with their own ideas of what they wanted to do.

In the back, on the left side of the aisle, there is an older lady in yellow sitting who looks really confused at first. She immediately gets into the whole thing, however, and claps, laughs, and smiles the whole way through.
When the bride finally comes down the aisle, you just get the sense that dancing down the aisle at her wedding was her dream and she was overjoyed at getting to live it. Kudos to her.
Also, based on the vast majority of comments from over 7 million viewers, they brightened the day and brought a brief bit of joy and happiness to several million people.
