The video

A question(s) for you military guys out there. Do you believe that the SEALs had video cameras on their helmets? Was the whole raid captured on video? It has been reported that the Situation Room was "live" with what was going on during the raid, so were they watching it, or just listening to the live satellite feed?

I'm not questioning if the guy is dead, and I don't need to see pictures. The story is just not adding up on what all happened in that room. The video, at some point is going to get out.

according to Panetta the SEALs cams were off for 20-25 mins of the raid so who knows what they were atually watching in that situation room. One pundit suggested it was a rerun of Idol.
some media outlets around the world are playing up the no weapons on the OBL people, only 1 shot fired from the courier who was in a guesthouse, not in the main house as well as playing up OBL was shot in front of his 13 y o daughter.
I hope there is Vid that can show there was resistance, resitance from weapons, not water pistols

Your obssession with what I post is beyond sick. That post was from Mar 2010.

And I still agree with Obama over use of drones.

Did you not understand that it is the media outlets calling it a killing in cold blood in front of a 13 y o daughter and the reaction among muslims that is the issue?

NOT what I think but how will the muslims world react. The fact that I have to point this out to you suggests your obssession has clouded you ability to see beyond looking for ways to post to me to discredit me.

I don't care if there was video or not. I think there could have been a malfunction with the feed just as easliy as it could've "disappeared" so as to give plausible deniability of shooting and killing unarmed terrorists.

Either way, if all killed were unarmed, then so be it. I don't think many (or any) of the victims of the 9-11 attacks were armed, so I see it as a tit-for-tat argument. Kind of Old Testament attitude, you know, eye for an eye.

And please, no "we're America, we're not barbarians" talk.

I don't give a damn if he resisted or not, we are at war and he is the enemy and was killed accordingly. Nor do I care if his 13 yr old daughter and some other kid happened to be there.

I have seen one report in which it was stated that a SEAL took a 3 yr old that was in the room and covered eyes and ears so he wouldn't see the killing, but there has been SO much erroneous information come out of the administration, specifically Brennan, that I'm not sure what I believe about the details right now, except that he's fish food at this time.

None of us care how OBL died or if his 13 y o daughter saw it.
But since we are concerned with our military's safety how do you think radical muslims and maybe muslims who weren't radical before but become enraged after reading reports that there was only 1 shot fired by the OBL people and that a 13 y o girl saw her father get killed' in cold blood"?
We don't even know if it is true but do you think that will make a difference to the radicals reading this is Al Arabiya or al jazeera?
That is what is relevant about the negative reporting about the incident. And I have to say our gov't isn't helping when they also report OBL had no weapon and there was only 1 shot fired at the SEALS so the Gov't " assumed' there was firing all the way up to OBL's room and that is why they said there was a firefight at first.

horn6721,

Any military raid is pre-meditated and "in cold blood." I don't know why you're harping on that phrase. Do you suppose the SEALs were having a bunch of beers, got angry, stole helicopters and committed a crime of passion?

You accuse someone else of sick obsession while you keep pretending to wring your hands about the alleged 13 year old girl and how this is being played in the Arab world. You should understand better than anyone that some parties will spin any news to suit their own designs. You're doing it yourself because of your own partisan obsession.

War is a cold-blooded affair at the strategic level. BinLaden chose his battlefield (anywhere, anytime) and died on it. If his children were present, it was by his choice. If children witnessed the killing and are alive to speak of it, then that further verifies both Osama's death and the US care in not killing peripheral individuals.

I increasingly fail to see your point in this hand wringing about what some Arab/muslim entities are reporting about the story. My guess is that you're hoping it points to some failure of Obama's.

"I increasingly fail to see your point in this hand wringing about what some Arab/muslim entities are reporting about the story. My guess is that you're hoping it points to some failure of Obama's."

YOU fail to see how Arab media reports this to muslims is relevant? No kidding?

Do you believe Obama when he says he does not want to release the photos of a dead OBL because of concern for the safety of our military?

If one 13 year old who happens to be the child of a monster sees her dad's head get blown off, I don't feel much sympathy. Her Dad in effect killed some 3000 innocent people and we're supposed to mourn one kid? This was like going after Billy the Kid or Dillinger, you don't tippy toe around and hope for the best, you go in guns blazing if necesary, plain and simple. And it's BS if this suddenly causes a spike in new recruits. Those people would have already been on the fence about joining. They would have joined for one reason or another or not at all.

The only people that would have a problem with this are the whiny types, who had a problem with the seals punching their prisoner, or the helicopter video.

If this girl's story is inflaming the muslim world through arab language news services, consider this:

The original plan called for dropping a 2000 lb bomb on the house. Had that happened the headlines would read something like "Americans bomb innocent women and children in a bloodthirsty attempt to kill bin Laden". Wouldn't that be even more inflammatory?

There are those in the world who hate us and nothing we do will change that.

rv?
MY spin ? I posted what arab and other media are reporting. How is that a spin?

Or do you think radical muslims won't react to reading their " leader" was killed in " cold blood" in front of his 13 y o daughter?

The spin is coming from medai outside the USA and is calculated to inflame.

Most people here in the USA couldn't care if a 13 y o watches her vile father get shot. But there will be many elsewhere who will be enraged. That was and is my point.
What is the spin?
