Miami making some waves today for sure. Randy Shannon getting some speed and talent. I hope he does well. Not well enough to affect us but shows he was a good hire for the HC position. Florida has been taking their guys but he did the reversal on them today. They should be fun to watch as they maybe make progress. It will be hard not to make progress after this season.

What teams were you impressed with their showings? Florida started the day as the top team. They dropped to 3rd, not shabby.

I'm obviously biased, but I'm quite pleased with the class Hawkins has brought into Colorado, considering the turmoil & lack of wins we've had lately.

Miami brought in 7WR's and NU is competing with them for the 8th (Thompkins).

I'm listening to Nebraska's press conference now and they are really pumping up the resurgence/importance of the walk-on program. They announced players that will be walking on in addition to the 25+ signed players. This class certainly doesn't measure up to Callahan's classes based on stars. Then again, all those stars didn't translate well into on-field success so I'll withold judgement.

Incidentally, Pelini stated that they didn't recruit for any "needs" because they don't know what those were. They simply went out to get "football players" which is why they appear to have a class full of athletes according to the services.

I don't know if impressed is the word I would use here, but I was impressed (or shocked) by the classes that ND and Bama pulled after the year down year that both of them had (especially ND).

In regards to those two I am not shocked because the name, Saban, carries clout. It is his second year and nobody would count a poor year last year against him. New coach, new system, old players, yada yada yada.

But Weis, a guy who has shown no ability to coach in college, is shocking.

How about a team that unimpressed -- Tennessee.
Finished anywhere from 38th to 44th depending on the service.
As much as it sucks to miss Scott, at least we're not 44th in recruiting.

Miami pulled in a stellar class and Shannon deserves nothing but props. He's putting the clamp down in Souf Florida with recruits. He'll be fine and I wish him well. What sucks are the people who wanted him fired after this year. I think he'll be great at The U.

The other school that surprised the **** out of me getting a badass class? Uh, Clemson.

No ****, forgot about them. They poached bigtime. They are that bubble school that does well for most of a season then blows it. They may get over that hump and be the humpers, not the humpee's.

Bama (32) and U (33) recruits is very different from what we do at UT. Since there is a 25 limit per year, it will be a year or 2 to see which 25 make it on the field. Rankings cant be determined until you know which 25 will get on campus.
That said, both got some good players.

Miami's class is much more bottom-heavy. Alabama's class is very impressive....22 five and four star recruits.

Crazy to see that 9 of OU's 15 five and four stars are from Texas.
