I wonder if this clause has a time-frame stipulation attached to it. I feel like VCU purposely did this to extort more money from the school that hired him away. Because they knew this would pull at Shaka's heart strings to compete against the kids he recruited, coached, and built an everlasting relationship with. If there is no time frame requirement and we can play them 4 years from now, then I say play them and save the $

Wow, what an outrageously high buyout for VCU to demand. They remind me of Dr. Evil asking for a ransom of 1 Million Dollars in order to save the world. The AD perspires that much in any ten minute span. What a cute number to arrive at.
