I know a bunch of us felt like we had been kicked in the stomach when Khat got hurt. And Sha'Dare before that. And Bailey and Ashley and Sydney and Hannah and Amber.
Think of how hard the players work to excel, just when they're healthy. Then when they get injured like that?
You know, we only see the tip of the iceberg, the end result of all the work. We just see the split-second when Bailey is up at 11 feet, applying whoopass to the ball. We don't see the hundreds and hundreds of hours of rehab and training it took her to get back there.
The title of this post is from a song called "God's Promise." One of the lines is "I never did promise you crowns without trials."
Khat - and the rest of our team and coaching staff and trainers - have a whopper of a trial in front of them.
It'll be tough.
But you know, Khat is going to nail this one. Anyone can see her spirit and fire and confidence.
One day, Khat and Haley and Hannah and Bailey and the rest of our awesome team will light the tower orange. And not just plain orange - orange with the #1.
A lot of us are pulling for Khat. And then there's the promise.
