I'm pretty sure I remember him once unloading on his own team with very similar language after a loss when he was at T Tech.

Did he recruit them? I agree, he’s a buffoon. Not sure why so many on here seem to hold him in high esteem.
I just don’t think he’s funny. You have to go back to 1940 to find a TT coach with a higher winning percentage than Leach.
You have to go back to 1942 to find a Washington State head coach that coached 3 or more seasons there with a higher winning percentage than Leach.
People like him because he wins and he speaks his mind, in an off-beat funny kind of way.
I know that a lot of folks here hold Leach in high regard. I have never seen him his anything other than a classless a$$hat. Sorry, but it's my opinion.
Yep, throw 18-20 year old youngsters under the bus when you refuse to include defense or special teams when putting your team together.
I do realize some on here probably just bring up Leach because they think he is entertaining; but I have to agree, Rick.I know that a lot of folks here hold Leach in high regard. I have never seen him his anything other than a classless a$$hat. Sorry, but it's my opinion.

As per usual, Stat, you posted a GREAT set of numbers!Texas Tech in three decades preceding Leach (1970-1999):
3 bowl wins
11 losing seasons
6 seasons going 7-4 or better
4 seasons finishing ranked in the AP Poll
In one decade with Leach (2000-2009):
6 bowl wins (or 5 if you don't want to give him credit for the 2009 Alamo Bowl)
0 losing seasons
4 seasons going 7-4 or better
5 seasons finishing ranked in the AP Poll
In the almost-decade since Leach (2010-2018):
3 bowl wins
5 losing seasons
0 seasons going 7-4 or better
0 seasons finishing ranked in the AP Poll
Pretty clear difference between him and everyone else.
Washington State in three decades preceding Leach (1982-2011):
5 bowl wins
19 losing seasons
8 seasons going 7-4 or better
7 seasons finishing ranked in the AP Poll
Washington State under Leach (2012-2018):
2 bowl wins
3 losing seasons
3 seasons going 7-4 or better
1 season finishing ranked in the AP Poll
Not as clear of a difference, but the long lead-up time I picked may be misleading there given that the 8 seasons preceding his arrival included no winning seasons and three seasons of 2-10 or worse. And 2/7 bowls and 3/7 seasons of 7-4 or better are still marginal improvements over 5/30 and 8/30; only the AP polls are worse.
