The Office - jumping shark?

I don't really want to debate whether the British or American version is better. The British had allowances for format (like time allotted and profanity) that made it a very different show than its American "sitcom-scaled" brother.

But after the last couple episodes, focusing on romance between three and a half different parties, where does the show go from here? The only redeeming thing about yesterday's show was Dwight asking for help and coming to terms with some thoughts. Sure, I laugh at the "that's what she said" comments, or Kevin being stupid, or Jim's glances to the camera, but that's about it now.

There's so much they could still do with all of the other characters. Hopefully they get to these things during the remainder of season five.

She introduced me to so much. Pasteurized milk, sheets, monotheism. But you are right that it wasn't a good episode. At least 30 rock starts next week.

The good episodes are still great, but every season it becomes more like a soap opera and a slightly smaller % of the episodes are good ones.

are you shitting me? last night's episode was one of the best in quite a long time.

nobody steal from creed bratton. the last guy who did, disappeared. his name... creed bratton.

I thought it was a pretty good episode myself. I'd say it's less soap-operaey now than it was through the Jim/Pam/Roy/Karen love triangles of before.

The best instance of jumping the shark was in arrested development when Barry Zuckercorn actually jumped over a little shark that was on a pier.

Just saw this week's episode. I thought it was pretty funny. I watched the first three seasons on DVD. I enjoyed that more b/c I could watch the deleted scenes which are just as funny.

I always hate when it it's over.
