I can't believe no thread exists yet. Here we go...

"It's just noise coming out of an ugly scientist" and then Pam's look.

"It has the potential to be your best idea yet."

"Also, I would like to see her topless."

And I liked Kevin asking Pam to say "These are due back Thursday".

I also thought it was funny how you thought Michael was going to submit to Dwight's will and put him in charge of the office, only to have your expectations dashed when he said "no".

I was fully expecting Michael to respond to Stanley's confrontation in the work room with:

Stanley - I don't respect you.
(pause)
Michael - Nyaah. (Fluffy fingers)

somethin bad/humiliating/humbling has got to happen to ryan soon.

but i still love it when michael is mean to toby.

Good episode - definitely dark when you mix in the continued Ryan meltdown.

I really thought that last confrontation with Michael and Stanley was well done. It was one of those moments where basically Michael had completely run out of options but to finally just be straight and say what he needed to say. (It probably says something that he apparently did rule out "fluffy fingers" as a viable option.

Ryan's definitely going to get it good. He'll probably end up back at Scranton working under Michael again.

That'd be sweet, although I think it's more likely Michael works under him. Considering Ryan couldn't sell anything to begin with, I don't see him getting a sales position. I could, however, see a double demotion.

Or Ryan could end up being a "Peter Principal" example, moving all the way up to CEO through a freak chain of events and eventually running Dunder Mifflin into the ground in the series finale.

That's possible, but I think Ryan is going to be punished more severely. He's not going to get fired, since BJ Novak is a writer and isn't going anywhere. He's got a drug problem and his grand idea is a huge failure. On top of it, he's trying to cover up his failure by having the people in Scranton entering in their sales as website sales. Corporate is going to punish him and the best way of doing so is sending him back to Scranton to work under Michael and Jim, who's going to torment him.

Michael's mangling of the one-liners at the end had me rolling. I've watched it several times, and it appears as though Carell is ready to break up at any second.

"Why don't they make the whole plane out of airline food?"

I don't think Ryan gets punishment. Hes the idiot co-worker that gets promoted over more deserving workers. Every office has that.

It also appears that the fake marriage proposal from Jim to Pam is going to be a running gag in each episode. I'm guessing we get the real one on the season finale.

Yeah but she eggs him on, intentional or not.

I can see Toby walking in one day and shooting everyone in the Office. Maybe that'll be the season (series? haha) finale as a culmination to all the dark elements the show has developed recently.

kidding
