The Offense as a whOle.

I like that we mixed things up, used various personnel in various roles yet still did not show too much of our hand for more potent teams in bigger games.

You are a DC for Arkysaw or elsewhere. You know now that Colt is more mobile and faster than next year, throws a better and tighter ball and has joined the Village People. You know that our young backs are good and that, get this, they have great hands and can catch as well as get yards after the carry. You know our TE's are legit yet you did not see much if any true heavy jumbo. You know our Oline is deep. You know Malcolm Williams is impressive and likely the others too. You know that Kirkendoll will drop a pass two short of Colt having a completion record, ha, just kidding. He is a balla.

You know that you don't know **** other than your work is cut out for you. Q, Jumbo...what sets do we use? What do you prepare for? Good luck. Ty Mack for sitting back and letting Greg be Greg. Let's hope this continues. No coach is perfect, no coach gets it right all the time. But this should be fun.

Think back to this time last year and the buzz and murmurs going on in our less than impressive win, but still a win v. you know who? I bet aggy sure as hell does.

Line looked much better than a year ago, and not coincidentally, Colt looked near-perfect. Amazing how much better your stats look when you're not running for you life.

Irby played a great game. Tough catches in traffic... several of them for first downs. Seems to have good chemistry with Colt. We need him to stay healthy.

Young wideouts played well.

Vondrell ran hard. Cody Johnson might be the short yardage back we've needed for a couple years now.

I thought we'd see a big dropoff in scoring with the losses of Jamaal and Jermichael, but this offense might turn out to be better than last year's.

I think Cody can be much more than just a short yardage back. I'm interested to see the rotation we use if/when Fozzy is able to get back(hopefully next week). All 4 guys can play and should play well, the OL will open holes for these guys, should be fun to watch.

I thought the O performance was scintillating.

colt was amazing. Maybe he is a dual purpose QB (my bad). He runs those draws superbly (wonderful timing when it comes to taking off/cutting). Having said that, I wish he would run less. If he gets hurt, it is a big problem. When he does run, he needs to go down or get out of bounds before he takes a big hit.

the new short pass offense is wonderful. did Major help out on that much? I am sure GD appreciates having another QB on the staff to brain storm with. The horns' short passing attack is very precise and efficient. It also really helps Colt and the receivers get into a nice rhythm. It will be very tough for anybody (even OU) to take away that short pass offense.

cody is the power back we have needed since Cedric. He is a very multi-purpose guy. I would like to see him drop 5 to 7 pounds and get down to maybe 248 to 250 and see if that helps his quickness. I would like to use cody more on the inside and Vondrell/Fozzy on the outside. Would really like to see Cody line up at FB more.

Blaine was awesome.

O line was awesome.

the horns' O looked in mid-season form. They have no huge holes, they are competent at inside running, outside running, short/intermediate and long passing.

FAU is a pretty decent team (except their D line is slow) and is going to have a good season.

Irby reminds me so much of David Thomas. He just has to learn to keep his feet. He caught everything thrown his way. Dan Buckner is going to be really good, Even on that play where he got interfered with, his concentration to go get the ball was pretty neat. He'll keep getting more PT.

Defense looked good, got plenty of pressure on the QB, we were very quick off the edge. I think if the Defense can keep it's end of the bargain we'll be fine.

BTW.

POOR Aggies!

Agreed.

Colt was overlooked by the punditry because they had the odd thought that he was trending to get worse as the years passed based on his freshman to sophomore slump. He played like a killer last night.

The line is the thing. Great protection. The bigger thing: THESE GUYS ARE YOUNG. Two more years together after this? Are you kidding me?

I'm excited about this offense. The coaches have done a great job in prepping the younger players instead of babying them.
