Say hello to my little friend:
I picked this bad boy up today. Found him on craigslist for an absolute steal. He is the official Come And Take It Tailgate Barbecue Pit.
I am going to have to do a few modifications in the upcoming months/years to get him up to where I want him to be, but I have my pit for the next few decades, at least.
To do, in order of importance (Not all of these will happen this season):
-Give it a good cleaning with a wire brush
-Drill a drain hole
-Get lights/license plate so I can take it on roadtrips
-Get the doors on the main cook chamber and vertical chamber to seal up better
-Put some racks for ribs/briskets in the vertical chamber (it only has a place to hang sausage right now)
-Find/make a grate for the firebox
-Get a shelf built in front of the main chamber
-New tires
So if anyone knows a good welder who will work for cheap, send me the info.
