The NEW season

Just wondering if anyone has some info concerning Gregory gym workouts and developing players(?). Are we recruiting any more bigs for 2012 / 2013 that are players and can contribute as freshmen? Any style of play being shown during summer and recent practices? Lots of questions about this year yet to be answered. Any gossip will be appreciated.

Well we already have a committment from the ESPN #8 recruit for 2012, 6'10 Cameron Ridley. And #55 Roscoe Allen (6'9) and #79 Prince Ibeh (6'10) both have the Horns on their list. With Felix also committed for next year and other additions likely 2012-13 could turn out to be a great season if we can manage to keep everyone else (unlikely in the case of Kabongo perhaps) at least through next year.

Must be a lack of interest in this year. No one talking about any of the players beside myck. No one has seen the team practice and/ or watched them shoot around, work out etc. No one has any ideas what the team will look like, start, the defensive stoppers, our shooters/scorers ??? This must be Texas Basketball by Rick.

The football team is doing great but it Oct. and the games start in another 45 or so days.

I think a lot of people had the sails let out when Smart chose OSU. Many expected it to be between Texas and UNC. Smart was considered a game changer.

Lammert is now in and waiting on Ibeh.

Official practice begins Oct. 15, but reports are that Holmes and Mclelland are doing well. There is a lot to be excited about as several incoming freshman look to be 3-4 year solid players and we have no idea what their limits are. We have a pretty good idea about Chapman, Wangmene and Brown and expectations are high for Kabongo who is likely a one and done. It should be interested to see how Kabongo and Brown work together.

I expect better bench coaching with Lanier on the sidelines. Will Rick still employ the Jazz offense and will the freshman use it through the full season? Last year, the team reverted to the old offense of helter-skelter.

Rather than wins and losses, I will pay attention to the development of the freshman similar to the freshman class of Ivey, Thomas, Boddicker and Mouton.
