The interior is HIDEOUS. I had been holding out for one of these for a long time. It wasn't until last fall that I changed my mind to something else. i was also miffed that they opted to not come out with the 500 h.p. model.
Hornius, that is a first generation Camaro, but not the first year, because the '67 had separate front door vent windows. That is a '68. I had a '69 Z-28, fun car in its day, but didn't quite achieve 29 mpg.
The styling more resembles a 69' model more so than a 68' model.
I read yesterday that considering the economy and the financial situation GM is in that they are talking about not coming out with the Z/28 model. That would suck....
saw one on the east side today, parked at a new house right off waller and 2nd street. i like them but not in solid colors. there should be some kind of stripes or even painted indentions (sp?) along the side. solid colors with no details on the sides make it bleh. but still nice car, just needs a little tweek on the outside.
For the record, I think they look silly. I hate all the "retro" looking cars, Mustangs and Chargers included. They look like cheap, Matchbox copies of the original '60's models. It is 2009 after all. Buy something that looks it or save your pennies for an original muscle car.
Considering the performance you get, the fuel economy is impressive in both the V6 and V8 models. Keep in mind the v6 is 300Hp. It's not exactly a low end v6. GM's LSx V8 engines are simply the best v8s ever built.
The V6 Camaro has better Hwy mpg than:
Audi TT e.w
Audi A5
BMW 3 series
Mustang
Challenger
Charger
Nissan 350Z
Hyundai Genesis 3.8
Mazda RX8
Scion TC
Miata
Impreza WRX STi
Eclipse.
The Camaro SS with V8 and Auto Trans STILL has better
Hwy mileage than:
Audi TT 3.2
Audi S5
BMW M3
Mustang V6
Challenger/Charger SRT8
Mazda RX8
Eclipse GT.
