The networks- after DTV transition?

Anyone have a handle on this?

Since there is no mentionable hype and hoopla in advertising, I kinda have answered my own question.
Its quite clear that the local stations B.cast these 'side band' channels with the digital signal.
But what about the networks? Suppose they might allow (for lack of a better word) the locals to carry mulitple, *simultaneous* OTA programming?
Example: A viewer might be able to switch between 2 NFL Sunday games? (not a NFL fan, so maybe its already happening).

You already have some networks that are using extra channels to send out different programming. Take channel 42 here in Austin on 42.1 they have the normal program and then on the42.2 they often run old re-runs. You won't see to football games as the networks are locked into each game for their region. Some of the networks will also show a weather channel. as well.

there's no way they are going to offer alternate games. there's way too much money to be made selling the subscriptions that allow that access.
