Wow.

Wife and I just watched the DVD tonight. Amazing performances and great music - I immediately bought the soundtrack and I never do that.

Read that it was shot for $160k - wish I could have seen it in the theater.

Very simple story, but man did they do it right.

Has anyone else seen it? Thoughts?

Loved it, one of the best movies i saw all year
I read about it on hornfans, went and saw it that night at the angelika and was blown away
I donwloaded a lot of the music and will probably buy the DVD at some point

Great movie

I haven't seen it, but only a matter of time.

I've listened to a lot of the songs, and that Marketa chick is crazy sexy.

Here is proof. Dadgummit I love female musicians.

My wife & I absolutely loved it. We were at a party last weekend & 'Once' came up. Those who had seen it were unanimously singing its praises, including one of the guests who is a musician/composer & has scored several R. Rodriguez films.

My sister just got me the soundtrack CD as an xmas gift & I'm sure we'll be playing it over & over as we drive out to the Hill Country this afternoon.

It is next up in my Netflix cue. Can't wait to see it.

Glan Hansard is an absolute rock star in Ireland. His band, the Frames, have been really popular in Ireland for years but never really broke in the US.

We worked their show at Stubb's, they were billed as the Swell Season.

I only got to see the sound check, but it was nice.

The dude was very happy to be in Austin.

Did you guys all like The Notebook too?

Never followed up on this: wow, just great. As they would say in the movie, "******* brilliant". Best movie I've seen in a while, very subtle and the music is really excellent. Thanks for the tip.

The coolest part about this movie is that the main characters aren't actors...in real life they are really just musicians that are friends.

I saw it this summer at the Angelika in Dallas and I thought it was excellent. I've also seen No Country and I need to see some others like Juno and There Will Be Blood but I think Once is the best movie I saw this year. The music was excellent, the acting was great but the story itself was just really refreshing and that's why I liked it so much. Oh yeah and I like The Notebook and I cried when I watched it and I am still a man. I like love stories though.

I watched this movie last night based on this thread. I was not disappointed. Wow, what a great movie. And great music. I've already downloaded the soundtrack.
