The morning leak

What is it with the morning leak that makes my piss basically go everywhere but where it is supposed to go? It doesn't matter if I have morning wood or not, the piss isn't going where it should. If I have morning wood, I hold it. But sometimes I think no wood, I'm fine... until I start pissing and it goes everywhere. Which leaves me cleaning up and then saying no more morning leak.

So what is going on? Even without the morning wood, why?

I have never not once pulled a George and peed in the shower but this is making me think twice after 30 years.
