I have gotten into the DaVinci Code(sp) and National Treasure, I watched this last night, not bad. I invested two hours yesterday, I guess I will invest two more today.

Any other good Templar adventures that anybody has read or recommend?

Check out a series of books by Robyn Young, starting with Brethren, then moving to Crusades, and ends at Requiem. They are not great, but not bad either. Won't have much to do with the Holy Grail and treasure, but gives you a pretty decent idea what it was like to be a knight and how they interacted with the other societies, like the Hospitallers and different governments.

These books, at least the first two are written from both the side of the infidel and european. Not sure how historically accurate the story line is about a secret brotherhood inside the Temple, but it seems plausible.

I have always really liked Robert Anton Wilson's Historical Illuminatus Chronicles. Very good historical books about secret societies and such.

Earth-Will-Shake-Illuminati

He co-wrote the The Illuminatus! Trilogy which is sort of a wild hippy version of the whole thing.

His co-author went on to write some excellent books as well:
The Link

Some of them are available online for free.

read this book a while back, can't imagine it'd be a good movie, especially the way it was hyped up.
