We have nearly reached our final destination. Pasadena is in our crosshairs. We’re so close we can almost smell the roses. But, our journey to the Rose Bowl is not complete. We still have one obstacle standing between ourselves and Pasadena: the Nebraska Cornhuskers in the Big 12 Conference Championship. This is the top priority: beat Nebraska, conquer the Big 12, and punch our ticket to Pasadena.
Now, I can’t say I really have much against Nebraska. They have nice fans, they play hard, and they’re good sports. However, that’s not how I feel now. Right now, Nebraska is in our way. They are in our way of the National Championship Game. And that doesn’t sit well with me. I want to beat the hell out of Nebraska, plain and simple. These are the games we live for. The games we dream about every night. The games we fight our hardest to get to and to win. I intend to work harder than everyone else in that stadium to succeed, and I hope all of you share that same mentality. There is no excuse for giving any less than one hundred percent in this game. No excuse whatsoever. That goes for everyone wearing burnt orange in Cowboys Stadium on Saturday night—players, coaches, fans, cheerleaders, and band members alike; we must all give our all. I don’t care if you’re tired or you’re hungry or you want to socialize with the person sitting next to you or you want to gawk at the giant video board hanging over the field. I’ll say it again—these are the games we live for. Let’s live life to the fullest and raise the Big 12 Championship high.
Let’s get to Pasadena.
