I was watching South Carolina at Mississippi St. today and noticed they have The Hump painted at both ends of the court behind the basket. The announcers referred to the arena as The Hump. Does anyone know why Mississippi St. calls their basketball arena "The Hump"?

Logical guess - HUMPhrey was shortened to Hump or George Humphrey's nickname was Hump.
