I high-five at games when my team does something worthy: score at TD, make a huge stop on 4th down (think Stony Clark), big interception, etc. In baseball, it's scoring a run or make a dazzling play with the glove, a la Omar Quintanilla in the 2002 CWS.

No high-five for the mundane: forcing a three-and-out or striking out the side.

i loathe the high five.

There are some chronic high fivers who sit one row below me at the football games. They are always turning around wanting me to give it up. I am not an ******* enough to deny them, but i wish they would just keep their high fiving to themselves.

problem with the high five is that i am often guilted into participating. if you are at the game, or the bar i guess, and your team does somethign great.... inevitably some 45 year old guy will attempt the high five to me, someone he doesn't know.

what am i supposed to do? leave him hanging there like a jackass and look at him like he is wearing jorts or something? no, i'll reluctantly complete the "high five" and just make sure i stand farther away from that guy.

at last year's okla.state game, there were 3 osu guys behind me. they hooped and hollered and high-fived every chance they got.

when we scored our first TD, my dad & i high-fived and i turned to the osu guys behind me and held my hands up.

they thought it was funny and didn't leave me hangin.
