OK, Horn BBall nuts. I know it is early, and I am very, very excited about the tournament, but I just need to get a good feel for who enters the draft after it is all said and done. DJ?? Most likely, right? James? Possibly, I guess. Anyone else? If neither one of them go, chalk us up for a #1 ranking to start next year. We will be very deep up front.

I look forward to being able to go deep into our bench like in years past. We got some big minutes out of a few guys this week and Gary going down hurt us.

Too scarry to think about right now!!!

It would be nice to see some of these great names sticking around for at least three years. Augustin and James will be awesome if they come back next year. This team could be Texas' best if these guys return. Mason, James, Atchely, Augustin and Abrhams with Johnson, Wang, Pittman, Hill, Chapman coming off the bench. Wow, this team will have wheels even if James and Augustin don't come back.

This just got me thinking...lets just say we do lose both DJ, and Damion James. What would our starting lineup and bench look like next year (this is not including incoming freshman because i don't know enough about whats going on in recruiting).

PG Dogus Balbay (sp?)
G AJ Abrams
G Justin Mason
F Gary Johnson/Matt Hill (i heard that Hill was supposed to get VERY significant minutes this year, but i could be wrong)
C Conner Atchley

or depending on how confident Barnes is in Dogus, or if we just wanna go big

G Justin Mason (kinda running the point like he has in relief of DJ, i like his ball handling skills)
G AJ Abrams
F Gary Johnson
F Conner Atchley
C Dexter Pittman/Clint Chapman/Matt Hill/Alexis Wangmene

your thoughts....

I have been very impressed with Mason's ball handling skills. On a full time basis though...I don't know.

J'Covan Brown is the only player that we have committed in the 2008 class as of now. He's a 6'2 combo guard with NYC-like skills from PA. Good but, not elite athlete with a salty game. We're in on Tyreke Evans and Wesley Witherspoon. Witherspoon is a 6'7 or 6'8" wing player and Tyreke Evans is an elite 6'5" combo guard. I believe Memphis is where ever believes he'll eventually go, but ya neva know.

Dogus will miss the first 12 games of the season next year due to sitting on the bench for a profession team in Turkey(didn't play, just sat on the bench that's the NCAA at its best)

Quiet as kept I'd be happy with both of the DJs returning and having Dogus and J'Covan providing much needed depth to our backcourt. That would be awesome.

Hornia,
really? i think Mason is decent but i dont think he can play point full time. We will need Balby/Brown to play and play well at point for us next year.
