up the road a bit. Move should be complete by early March. Is it too much to ask to bring the greasy grill along? I can't imagine the burgers would taste the same without it.

better than nothing. at least they're still on Burnet. And closer to my house!

No way it can have the same feel though. effin Walgreens....

I'll have to go try one of their Top Chopped Ranchers ....just to see if it's the same as is was 45 years ago.

Had my first Frisco burger in 1959.

My favorite Night Hawk was #2, where my mother worked in the early sixties. They had the best malts in town.

I'm glad Frisco's will remain open.

But seriously - why the hell does there HAVE to be another f-ing Walgreen's RIGHT THERE!!??

It isn't as if the used car lot right next door, or some other lot one or two blocks down isn't just as good.

Everyone ******* about how Austin is losing its identity, its very soul and the very things that make people want to live here in the first place - and then we continually have huge franchises and businesses come in and buy out and build over those exact same places.

There's nothing wrong with having businesses come in and build - but what do they ALWAYS want to/have to build on the exact location of the things that give Austin its unique identity???

We ate at the Frisco Shop last Friday and I had the special which was fried shrimp. I was expecting the regular fried shrimp (pre-made frozen) but the shrimp were fresh, huge and cooked to perfection. I'm sad to see them move out of their existing place but I look to eat there a great deal more in the future. Some seriously good classic American meals.

One of the classic neon signs in Austin is the Frisco burger. It has been there for as long as I can remember and I am old and grew up near that area. I am guessing it went up in the mid to early 60's.

I drove by there yesterday and it looks like a long way off from opening. They did move the neon burger sign however which is a good thing. The old building is still there.........in a pile of rubble.

i drove by two days ago on my way to the saucer.... couldn't believe it was bulldozed. glad to hear they're gonna relocated.

what are they getting replaced with? another ******* walgreens?
