The first overstep?

Paul Ryan says the GOP will defund Planned Parenthood. The darling of the left, I predict this will have the same impact on the left that Obamacare had on the right. This effort is being bundled into the repeal of Obamacare.

Obama blew all of his political capital on Obamacare, the Auto Industry bailout and the stimulus package. Any efforts to defund Planned Parenthood will be seen as an overstep at whatever mandate was given a POTUS that won the presidency by -3 million votes.

If the GOP doesn't replace it with something good, repeal of Obamacare could be the first overstep even if they don't toss in defunding Planned Parenthood. Republicans say they don't want to leave anyone worse off than they are under the ACA. Obama was an idiot to make a similar promise about Obamacare, and the Republicans are idiots for suggesting that they can pull it off by repealing Obamacare. There will always be winners and losers when major changes are implemented.

I'm guessing we will see a steady slashing of federal spending on relatively smaller programs like Planned Parenthood and larger ones such as subsidies to Obamacare and down the road entitlements like Medicare/Medicaid and Social Security. These programs will then fall under the jurisdiction of state governments which, because they can't fund them, will raise taxes and administer the programs at a much smaller level. If I'm correct, it means further drops in living standards and all the social mayhem that would be attached to that.

It will be an overstep in perception only by the left media that they will try to paint. Because if the GOP just took us back to where we were at before Obama then we all would be much better off. With the out of control price hike and sky rocket deductibles we aren't really getting to use our insurance. Only a major car wreck or cancer or something like that does the insurance gets used. That's a fraction of the population. Anybody that shows up at an emergency room doesn't get turned away. Before Obamacare we got much better care at a much lower price. People aren't making it as it is and paying high premiums don't help.
