The Expendables

Truly awful. I'm a faithful Stallone apologist, love the guy, but this movie was inexcusable. The writing and "acting" was embarrassing.

I wasn't expecting the Godfather, just a good shoot em up action movie. Ten minutes in I was already ready to leave due to the writing and dialogue.

Once again Sly got a screenplay co-credit. I'll bet he commandered the original script and gave himself most of the lines. That's the way it seemed to me. If you like LOTS of close-ups of Stallone, this is the flick for you.

Jet Li was wasted in this film. Statham was OK.

As painful as it was to suffer through this movie, I'd rather see it again than ever go to Eat Pray Love.

If you want a cerebral movie of which to ponder its finer points later, this movie is not for you. If you want plenty of gunfire and explosions, come on down.

Saw it yesterday. Good action, bad dialogue. I thought "The Losers" did a much better job of combining action with decent dialogue (of course, it helpe dthat Peter Berg dis the script). On the whole, it was a decent way to spend 2 hours on a hot day

I agree - it was horrible. But "not bad" as far as mindless action movies go.

There was one scene that I liked though. When Tool (Rourke) was talking about not stopping the girl from jumping off the bridge. The camera was in close, angled from above, and focused on his face. That was actually a great job by Rourke in that scene. Like finding a diamond amidt a bunch of dirt clods.
