Some possibly huge news for the Big XII...West Virginia's Scout site is saying tonight that Clemson and FSU have an agreement in principle with the Big XII to leave the ACC and join the Big XII:

I haven't seen any confirmation from any other sites, nor have I heard anything out of the Big XII office, but if there's substance to the Scout report, it's major news for the Big XII.

Fsu/Clemson and GT/VT/Pitt. Rumors of Sec wanting to stay at 14 for a couple of years but im not sure they can do that. You have to pick now and not get stuck with left overs. IF, ND is forced into a conf, then we will see 4 superconferences. Big 12 will not go to 16 teams unless ND is in a conference.
Not sure what 3 teams Pac 12 can add other than Byu but thats their problem.
I can see Miami getting left out as can a couple of Acc teams. Sec wont take Miami, so unless Big 12 does, Miami's only choice is Big10 or Pac.
Is Duke basketball & academics big enough to get them into Big10?
Big 10 will add 4 to get to 16 if Big 12 and/or Sec do, with BC being the first team and maybe Maryland(unless they are in Big 12/Sec).

So who will Big 12 choose? Its kinda like a draft, haha.
I have VT eventually going to Sec with one of the North Carolina schools.
I have Big 12 getting:
GT/Pitt/Maryland
-all 3 are by major airports(as opposed to VT)
-good in academics
-bring a good market

The big 12 Pods(yes they will happen if 16 teams happen).
Texas.Baylor,Tcu,TT
Ou,Osu,Kansas,KSt
Fsu,Clemson,GT,ISt(they have to go somewhere)
ND,Wvu,Pitt,Maryland

Wish we could trade away Iowa St for a Wake Forest, but i doubt there are any takers for the Cyclones.

Actually, considering the great job Paul Rhodes is doing at Iowa State, and assuming he doesn't move on, the Cyclones may prove to be a valuable property to the Big XII.

If FSU and CU are as far along as is being currently reported, then the next key becomes Notre Dame.

ND will influence the number of schools in the conference as well as who those schools will be.

Some schools which might not consider the Big 12 today, such as North Carolina, might change their minds if ND joined the Big 12.

I just hope we don't let negotiations with ND slow down the addition of FSU in any way whatsoever. FSU is a very big deal in its own right.

Take a look at the job Rhodes has done up there compared to Chizik. He's said he plans to stay, since he's from Iowa, but if he made himself available, you'd be surprised how quickly some teams with names you recognize very well would grab him. The Cyclones aren't showing it in the win column yet, but they're no easy out, especially up in Iowa.
