The Event (new NBC Show)

The time jumps sucked. First it was some time (present?), then three weeks earlier, then present, then 11 days earlier, then present, etc.

Same reason that Flash Forward sucked. You can't try to be like LOST in every single facet. They have some decent actors in Event, but I don't know if I can tough it out with so much other crap on my DVR and Netflix queue.

Horns11 nailed it for me. I watched it this morning on my DVR, and all of the time jumps just gave me tired head.

It doesn't have to be completely linear, but I hate when there's a flashback, and then a flashback from the flashback. It was hard keeping track of what was going on in real time.

I thought it was ok, the time jumps were a little much. The only problem I have is that one actress from ER. Her voice just irritates me, I have a hard time watching anything where she has a big part.

I'm hooked on watching it and think it's decent thus far....wouldn't surprise me if it get's cancelled early though. However I too am in the same boat that the time jumps are a bit much...very confusing after two episodes but it appears it's all coming together soon.

I think it jumped the shark with the taking of that guys blood and he pulled some sting out of his body with nothing attached. I realize he is not human but what in the hell did he pull out of his body? I know it was something to mask his blood but what the hell was it a sting?

I think its trying to be too much Lost meets X-files, and it becomes too scrambled and chaotic. It needs stronger central characters to give it a better focus.
I'll give it another week or two, and see if I start caring about anybody.

I still like the show, but it's beginning to have some credibility problems. Like the Sinister National Security Adviser. He seems to be a power unto himself, answerable to no one. In the real world, the NSA serves at the pleasure of the President and the minute the President is not pleased, the NSA is out on his ***.

That was a piece of tubing that the guy pulled out of his arm. The tubing segment is filled with blood. Under the skin it looks like a vein (it's the movies!) and the nurse is fooled into thinking she drew his blood. Kinda farfetched but.....

Not a bad episode on 10/18. That Sean guy is pretty cagey and resourceful.

Still don't see why President Martinez tolerates the Sinister Advisor. You just KNOW he's behind the attempt to kill the President.

I've actually thought the show has gotten better. Time jumps are much less frequent now...and storyline is really starting to get interesting. Sinister advisor guy doesn't turn out to be who everyone thought.....!?!?

these networks need to realize that putting in flashbacks for the sake of a flashback is not going to create another Lost.
