The Democratic Party is Dysfunctional and Stupid

No. There is another.

Take heart. No delegates at stake without a nasty credentials fight, and neither Obama nor Edwards did any campaigning in the state in deference to the national committee's ruling.

Well, as a Republican, I wish you were right. But I don't think you are (except the dysfunctional and stupid part). You have a MUCH greater chance of being happy in November than I do. Enjoy it.

The Democratic party is dysfunctional and stupid and the Democrats have had a voter turnout which leaves the GOP in the dust. Look at the cumulative vote totals of all voters in the primaries so far. WAAAAY more people have voted in Dem primaries than have showed up to vote for Pub candidates. In some states they've exceeded GOP turnout by more than 20%. Whoever the GOP nominee turns out to be, he better start inspiring a WHOLE LOT more people to actually go to the polls and vote for him. Love 'em or hate 'em, when the Dems are turning out THAT MANY MORE VOTERS on election day it spells real trouble for the GOP.

Brubricker--

The problem we have is that all changes in the general election if Bilary is the nominee. Alot of independents and conservative Democrats will go McCain's way. And the Republican base will be in total jihad mode at the prospect of the Clintons in the WH again.

Republicans do not have anything to be motivated about -- YET.

In many ways, Bilary is the pubs only hope. They are floundering in support for the current candidates and need the hate vote like the dems used to gain back control of the congress.

The conservative talk show host are falling all over themselves to bash McCain as a liberal moderate. Who are they going to vote for come election time? If it's Obama, they don't show up to vote. If it's Bilary, then a lot of right wingers hold their noses while pulling the republican lever. Nothing to motivate like hate.

I could not agree more with the OP..in a year where the Rep party and current administration are HANDING the 08 presidency to the Dems, they cannot come together and find a strong electable candidate....It's frustrating watching the party operate...they act exactly like a bunch of siblings in the OP appropriately described dysfunctional family..

Great thread that puts down my exact thoughts about this situation...
1) How can the Dems throw this silver platter away?
2) Who is voting for HRC!?
3) Someone step in and see that if HRC wins the nomination she will ignite a fire in the country to keep her out of the WH.
4) How can anyone not want to vote for Obama with all of the points made?
5) I am pissed!

I'm conservative but not a Republican and I would have to agree. If y'all nominate HRC you're gonna lose the general. There's just a built in Hilary hate factor that I don't think can be overcome.

Obama on the other had would have a great chance to will the general election. He's incredibly likable and while I've never voted for a Dem in the Presidential race I would give him serious consideration.

As it is now, I think I'm in the McCain camp. But not fully sure.

Yea, I will be honest. I am not very afraid of HRC. I think that many ask the question, "Is HRC electable?" If either party has to ask that question, it probably isn't good. I don't think she can win. I am not really an HRC hater, but I think the Dems are almost trying to 'gift' the Repubs a win.

I am a 100% Reagan Republican. I love him! I remember cutting a day in high school in '88 to go see him speak at Baylor.

Anyway, I have never voted for a Dem in my whole life (except for JJ Pickle when I was at UT b/c the man got **** done).

I will vote for McCain in the general if he gets nominated. If it's HC vs Romney or huckabee, I vote republican b/c I can't stand her more than I can't stand them. If it's BO vs Romney, i think I might go BO. BO vs Huckabee would be a toss-up.

Anyone who knows me in RL would be amazed that I'd even consider voting for any dem for prez. However, there is no way I would ever, ever, ever vote for HC. ever.

Even if she was running against the illegitimate love child of L. Ron Hubbard and Joseph Smith, who had started a new church, Latter Day Scientologists.

I agree with the premise of the original post ("dysfunctional and stupid") but I still don't think Hillary will be the nominee, even if it is my wishful thinking.

The momentum his breaking to Obama

This will be one of the biggest blunders of all time when it comes to politics. Nominating Gore, Kerry, and Clinton back to back to back. At that point you cant even be mad at R's when **** gets ****** up. You will have to look in the mirror.

I was raised in an R family and have only voted for R's and libertarian. Obama is the first D that I have EVER considered voting for. There are tons of people just like me. There are tons of people that never vote that would if hes the nominee. He will whip the D base into a frenzy. But no.....they want to nominate the lady that many dems wont even vote for.

What a wasted opportunity this will be for the Ds and for America.
