The Death of High Fructose Corn Syrup

Like the article stated, HFCS is probably only a little worse than cane sugar, but I like my Mexico Coke and Dublin Dr Pepper much more than the local variety.

It's all sugar in the soft drinks down here. (Argentina)
But what I'm waiting for is the "POMELO" boom in the USA. Paso de los Toros
is absolutely awesome and even the imitators aren't bad.

that looks like bull jizz. yuck.

the death of HFCS cannot come fast enough. and not just because it's trash but mostly because it's trash that has found its way into EVERYTHING. try finding bread without HFCS. you can do it, but i bet you have to look at 10 different breads before you do.

the American diet is not unlike the financial problems we face. we want all the good and most often aren't willing to pay the price.

The amazing thing to me is that almost all mass produced breads have HFCS in them.

HFCS is disappearing from even processed foods (breads) at an extremely rapid pace. The real junk (sweets, pastries, many breads) is holding on for dear life, but a diet without HFCS isn't hard at all.

I'm guessing HFCS is cheaper? If I only need to pay an extra few cents for a 12 pack of slightly healthier soda, then I guess I'm on board.

Thanks Uninformed. I did not know that.

I've been a coke drinker all my life, but over the last 6-8 months, I've been really looking at getting HFCS completely out of my diet. Because of this, I have set Monday as the day that Cokes no longer enter my system. Once I do that, I'll have HFCS completely out of my diet.

I have some stomach problems so about 2 years ago I switched from Coke to Caffeine Free Coke (which tastes the exact same). After I switched, I got bad headaches for a week or two. I didn't realize that I was addicted, although I could have guessed from all the cokes I drank. After I switched to Caffeine Free, I drank fewer Cokes. Now I probably drink less than a Coke a day. Sometimes its caffeine free and sometimes its my wife's Coke Zero (which isn't too bad - and I hate diet drinks).

NAIU - I gave up my coca-cola for Lent this year, and haven't gone back. I'm pretty proud of this accomplishment, and my resolve will be put to the test this summer.
