We all know the Heisman doesn't always get it right such as the mistake with Vince and Jim Borwn not winning in 1956 (in my opinion) but no doubt the first year it was presented (1935) is the worse of the snubs and the unkindest snub of all.
That year the winner was Jay Berwanger, HB of Chicago. Army HB Monk Meyer was funner up. Third place went to Notre Dame HB Bill Shakespeare. This was a big snub as Bill was to later write many famous plays that have been on many stages and many have been made into famous movies such as Hamlet, Romeo and Juliet, Julius Caesar, MacBeth, Much Ado About Nothing, King Lear, The Taming of the Shrew, etc.
