Colorado just dropped LSU for Fresno St. Nice.

But just keep telling yourself that the SEC is completely and unequivocall
y willing to schedule decent OOC competition.

This is Div. 1A football brother, don't like it? go play intramurals Hawkins!!!

Maybe he did not want his kids to be in contact with thugs and the like of the LSU or SEC players? Or he just did not want his *** kicked. Either or neither could be the reason.

Until I see them repeat this, I'll be the last one to bag on CU's OOC's, because ever since they gave McCartney that lifetime contract back when he was there, they've ALWAYS played an excellent schedule. From their website:

2008- CSU, Eastern Washington, Florida St. West Virginia

2009- CSU, Miami (Ohio), Wyoming, West Virginia

2010- CSU, Cal, Hawaii, Georgia

2011- Hawaii, Cal, TBA, Fresno St.

2012- CSU, Minnesota, Fresno St., Utah

2013- CSU, Minnesota, TBA, Utah

2014- CSU, TBA, Oregon, Hawaii

2015- Hawaii, Washington, 2 TBA's

Conference smack aside...Pat Hill and Fresno State will play anyone, anytime, anywhere, and I have a lot of respect for him and that program.

Yeah. We should have scheduled a better non-conference schedule. One without weak-assed Arkansas on it.
We're Texas. Why are we scheduling the dregs of the SEC?

I didnt realize that Colorado was indicative of then entire conference.

But since we are extrapolating, Colorado still has a better record of playing decent OCC opponents than Georgia. So you still fail.

Don't get carried away over Pat Hill and Fresno State. They focus only on their marquee games (which they generally lose) & then crumble in their mediocre conference. As far as the CU thing goes, they use to recruit Louisiana maybe they no longer feel that they can pull talent from that state, so there was no point going there & getting beat down.

There are Big 12 teams that don't schedule a heavily competitive OOC slate.

Colorado, which was the target of this post, is one program that has historically had a strong OOC schedule and continues to do so. My guess is that over the past 20 years or so, they are in the top 5 major conference schools in OOC scheduling strength.

Appalachian St.
Troy
North Texas

-all at home-

Now THAT is how you schedule a powerful OOC schedule...

or how about this beast:
Georgia Southern
Central Michigan.
both at home...
WOW!

Wait, here's another:
Louisiana-Monroe (at home)
Tennessee-Martin (for homecoming!)

Woooooooooooo, you don't get that kind of scheduling in the poopy pants conference!

Tulane and Western Kentucky!!!

I will give it to the Florida Gators. They're OOC is the real deal:
Hawai'i
Miami
Citadel
FSU

The other UT's schedule is acceptable because they're @UCLA. Otherwise, they have UAB and Wyoming.

You can put the moonshine and meth down and come back to earth.

BCS conference teams don't play tough OOC, because they have tough conference schedules.

as others have noted, i will go even further.

there is not a team in the nation that plays in a BCS conference that plays a tougher OOC schedule that Colorado.... and that includes Fresno State. I'm not real sure why they dropped this game, but unless they make it a habit, no one from any school any where can talk **** about CU's OOC schedule.

"no one from any school any where can talk **** about CU's OOC schedule."

well, except the team they just ducked.

CU's past and future schedules should make it apparent to anyone that CU isnt ducking anyone...and people should remember that Fresno St beat CU the last time and almost beat CU in 1997 or 1998....

I don't think CU is ducking anyone when a top 10 (possible top 5) West Virginia team comes rolling into Boulder on Sept. 18th! I for one will be watching that one...
