The backcourt pick

How many times does it happen during a game? And I am not talking about a pressing team or a team that applies pressure after the ball is immediately thrown in. I'm referring to the situation where the guard has broken down the defensive player and the defensive player is moving at full speed to keep up, (ie: what happened to Augustine and Carter),

Those who blame the defensive player for not calling out the pick need to realize that no team defends the pick and roll in the backcourt. The post defender is already down the court.

The pick is legal per the official rules, but I just don't recall seeing it very much over the years.
