The Astros suck

I'm a lifelong Astros fan, and I don't know if we've ever been this bad. I won't go into all the problems, but rather just focus on their 4th and 5th OF'ers.

Jason Michaels -- .179 BA, 0 HR, 4 RBI, 3 Runs, 1 SB
Darrin Ernstad -- .111 BA, 0 HR, 3 RBI, 5 Runs, 0 SB

How in the Hell do they not have anyone better than these 2 to spell Lee/Bourn/Pence and/or play DH in AL parks?? Absolutely pathetic.

I have been watching them since the Jose Cruz days and they will always disappoint you in the end. I suggest finding a new team.

If you lived to see Nolan Ryan, a hall of famer give up go ahead runs in the 9th inning in the NLCS against the Mets, you dont doubt bad karma.

Then Drayton ices the Astros legacy by letting the Mets steal Carlos Beltran. I wont even mention Joe Morgan.

I can blame Drayton for plenty, but Beltran is far from the top of that list. I think his agent screwed the Astros on that one. Most of our current problems can be traced to Purpura, but Ed Wade hasn't done much better. Jason Michaels has absolutely no business being in the Major Leagues.

But even without him, we still have a starting pitching rotation all over 30 years old, a depleted farm system, un-tradeable big contracts in Lee & Tejada, and (if we did want to unload them) our 2 best players (Berkman & Oswalt) are having 2 of their worst years of their careers.

I don't know how you can say Drayton is nickel and diming it. This year's payroll is $103 million compared to the Ranger's $68 million. The problem is basically the years that the Stros failed to sign their top draft choices and made some incredibly stupid moves. WTH didn't they resign Randy Wolf? Wonder how many homeruns the Rangers will hit off Backe tonight?
