The Asset and The Big Cigar done gone silent!

Interesting, how after being wrong about everything but Ash having a bad practice prior to the Mizzou game, both the so-called insiders have decided to clam up.

I think we are going to pass it about 50 times against K-state and we are working specifically on our pass game all week. Just my prediction.

Some of these prognosticators need to simply shrivel up and go away. Acting like they've got all of the inside info, while proving that they're just flinging poo on the walls and hoping something stick, is just a lame way to draw traffic to their sites. These dudes need to stick to reporting real stuff.

What have they been so adamantly wrong about? The entire gameplan last week was based off of Fozzy's being in the game. Once he is gone, we don't have a back that can break tackles. CJ wasn't put in at tailback because he hasn't been repped at tailback. All his reps have been at fullback, so don't say he was a viable option.

The passing game was going to be opened up by the running game. With no running game, whatever gameplan was created was useless. Obviously, once the gameplan is gone, whatever Jesus reported can be thrown out the window as well.

Also, last week's Asset report was posted on Thursday. I'm posting this Thursday morning. Give it time.

Also, the Big Cigar hasn't been heard from the last couple of weeks. According to Jesus, the Cigar is getting heat for releasing information. That could either be a cover up for their make believe source, or there actually is a Big Cigar that receives heat for releasing too much info.

You just need something to ***** about to get you through the week, don't you?

costanza, I think the 'big cigar' and the like lost most of their cred in the summertime, when they were guaranteeing that they had the inside track on the conference realignment sort out. from then on, I'd wager that their posts have been more wrong than right, which is why I think the game of knowing what's going on behind closed doors is a waste of time.

and, yes, I just felt like having something to ***** about this morning, because my coffee was just the right temp, my commute was easy, and we're closer to the weekend than yesterday was

"CJ wasn't put in at tailback because he hasn't been repped at tailback. All his reps have been at fullback, so don't say he was a viable option."

You improvise, adapt, and overcome. If you dont go into a game with multiple options, you are doomed for failure.

Conference realignment is a very fluid situation. That should be clear from Mack stating numerous times that UT was all but in the Pac before officially stating it was committed to the Big 12. I don't know that they should lose credibility for that. Besides, I don't feel that is information that most Hornfans go there for. They want football information more than realignment information.

GeorgeCostanza, here are some things The Asset said last week:1) the coaches have put in a couple of passing game wrinkles to help Ash and to counter some of the things Mizzou is going to do to slow down Texas’ newfound power rushing attack. Yes, that includes one new gadget, one new player in the passing game, and perhaps multiple people throwing the ball.

2) At running back,....Malcolm Brown is good to go and will see action along with Bergeron. Nothing major to report at this position other than that

3) At receiver Jaxon Shipley had a set back after yesterday’s practice and reported some soreness in the knee. He’s likely a game time decision but The Asset still thinks Jaxon will play.

1. I quit reading (or believing) the reports from the people 'in the know' months ago, unlike you i guess

2. my commute/coffee comments were a joke, implying that I had to find SOMETHING to whine about.

3. EABOD, constanza.

To be fair... Mack did say last night they thought Joe Bergeron was going to play against Mizzou, but before the game couldn't run fast enough to satisfy Major.

In reply to HiT:

1) Well, the wrinkles only work if the running game works. Seeing as the running game did not do jack crap, did you really think the passing game would do a whole lot. Also, it was freakin' windy. Wind has a great affect on the passing game (not that you will admit that).

2) IIRC even the guys on FX said that Brown was good to go. Perhaps both were, but after seeing Fozzy go down on a non contact injury, the coaching staff decided not to play them. In fact, Bergeron did play, but the coaches saw that he was only about 3/4 speed. Mack said that in his presser. ****. Was that not an in game decision by the coaches to not let him play?

3) Jesus said Shipley was "likely a game time decision", but that he is expected to still play. He didn't play, but that still fits into what Jesus reported.

In reply to dalhorn:

1) But you still have time to waste to post in this thread.

2) I know that was a joke. That's why I threw it back in your face.

3) You really expect me to be respectful to you after you tell me to eat a bag of dicks?

i didn't expect you to be respectful after i suggest you do that. I expected you to be respectful BEFORE I suggested that, instead of replying to my commute/coffee line with a knee-jerky rude response, internet tough guy.

btw, wasting time on this thread is fun. but, wasting time buying into the 'big cigars' just seems like swimming in circles to me.

If you wanted respect before that specific comment, why did you have such a ****** attitude prior to that comment as well?

BTW, my original comment about needing something to ***** about during the week was actually targeted at HiT. Sorry that I didn't clarify that earlier.

CO-STANZA!!!

Sorry, I didn't mean to come off with ****** attitude in my initial comments. They weren't directed at anyone's opinions on the topic, but the source of the topic themselves (i.e. JS,etc..). I just don't understand why so many of us got, and still get, wrapped up in their prognosticating, when it seems more like simple speculation and quite often, fantasy.

as for the reply toward my coffee joke ( and subsequent standoff), yes, I thought that your reply was directed at me. Now that you've cleared that up, i take back my comment--guess it was my inner Lloyd Braun boiling up.

SERENITY NOW!!!!!!!

I thought we would be about 5-4 or 6-3 at this point and am really happy about how the new offense is going and sorry the guys are all banged up.

My coffee was good this morning, my commute is ten minutes if I have to stop for all three lights and I think I will got to SA for a movie and dinner this weekend.

And this Saturday we get to play a team with a really interesting offense and a great coach and their really interesting qb got beat up real good by the aggies last weekend before he stuck the dagger in their hearts, to the cheers of most of the people in the room at my house.

So I expect he is going to get a working over this weekend from our D and we have a decent chance of winning our 7th game. Whoop, as our aggie brethren like to say.

Serenity now, insanity later.

I blame my parents for making me this way. All of their constant bickering when I was a child did this to me. Had they gotten a divorce, maybe I would have actually turned out normal.

How about I buy you a big salad, and we be friends again?

Being kind of old, I had never encountered the term EABOD before and had to google it. The definition left me a bit startled but also laughing at the logistics of how or where a ABOD would exist. I have thoroughly enjoyed this thread.

I enjoy reading barkingcarnival and the like, and I hardly care if they turn out to be more than 50 percent correct. It's just fun to read about the Horns and hear what they have to say. Often its some pretty good football talk -- scheme, personnel, etc. Bitching about stuff you don't have to read seems misguided.
