According to this wikipedia page, as of 2008, the Longhorn baseball team had 2971 total all time victories. Add the 50 victories for 2009, and now we have 3021 total victories. Only the second team to have a total of more than 3000.
Pretty cool, but I'm calling BS on Fordham. They started playing baseball in 1864? Harvard and Yale didn't start until the 1870's. They started playing baseball in the second to last year of the Civil War?
yeah, the question is who were they playing if Harvard didn't start playing until 9 years later? I'm thinking they were playing high school or club teams, definitely not college teams.
Congrats Texas for being one of the few programs to have 3000+ wins!
Fordham University claims to have started playing baseball in 1860 and was 40-7 that year. It is very early baseball, and I know that in New Orleans that baseball was the number 1 sports in 1860.
The w-sips could beat us 2000 times in a row and still not come close to our total domination of the sport! However, since scholarship limits went into effect, I bet there's a much closer amount of wins. WHOOP!
