Vol Horn 4 Life

Good Bye To All The Rest!
To all of you here on the west mall I truly appreciate your participation.....well, except for R35! I considered him the Texas Taps of the west mall.

While there have been some crazy view points on many different topics.....well, nearly every topic.....it really helped me balance my opinions on a variety of things. I truly try to look at both perspectives when forming my opinions and I could certainly rely on getting both perspectives here on top of many times there is someone with very intimate first hand knowledge of details.

Truly a balanced argument to both sides whether all facts were true, made up or just stretched a bit. I'm not sure where I can find this balance moving forward, but thanks!

Agreed. I lurked here for years. As a Gubmint Major of '94, this site has made me see things with more perspective than I would have otherwise. Mr. Deez is the real deal, and has helped truthfully navigate some challenging topics here.

Peace,

Back at you Deez. I may have to try Shaggy again. Honestly, that place is a bit over-the-top for me.

Here's my explanation why I found it hard to write and participate, but did my best:

Life.. .reality... anything... appears to us according to just one thing: our state of consciousness.

Change that, and it changes what we see, meaning also how we see. Judging politics, history, civilization, anything.

You could say "well, my friend, expose yourself to different facts and information and you see things differently." Maybe, but not always. Additional information and facts will not always change the consciousness. It's often firmly in place ready to sift and sort whatever comes it's way.

So dialog is complicated because no two persons share the same state of consciousness. Close maybe, but not the same. They simply do not see the same thing. It is not what they are looking at that is the issue -- its the states of consciousness from which they view basically the same thing. One sees one thing, the other sees another. They may agree on details of what they see -- but hardly on what those details mean.

Unknowingly, states of consciousness act as filters that sift knowledge and information. And then connect dots in an unlimited variety of ways. So that all the "same" facts and information we may observe, will still be sifted, sorted and arranged in different ways.... according to our individual state of consciousness.
The outcome is what we know
, what we believe
. We then tell that to another, write about it.

I cannot 'argue' successfully with anyone on this board even if we dealt out on the table a thousand facts. The issue is that we'd be seeing those things from different states of consciousness. I guess the art is to share across different states of consciousness.

Here is the x-factor that plagues us all. Even in a Church on the same Pew, sitting next to one another... no two persons of that Church may have the same state of consciousness, will not see life the same. They may shake hands and embrace and feel they are brothers of a sort and follow the same beliefs and perceptions of life. But ultimately they really do not. Not necessarily.

So if they are to agree (to a degree) and get along, they have to compromise and not "split hairs" on everything.

Multiply that times the whole of society, and there you go.

Ben Franklin decided (as his 13th value) to speak in such a way as to recognize differences with his fellow man. Once he came to grips with that, he got along better and even brought more often than previous, others to his way of thinking. Prior to his reckoning with that value, he used to grab a person by the collar and read them the riot act on how things are! (details of that in the beginnings of Franklin's Autobiography).

If this board is truly going down, thanks to all for putting up with my futile attempts at expressing my views. I did my best to listen to yours.
