Just wanted to reach out to everyone here and give a heartfelt thanks to all in the Longhorn family.
Ten years ago, my Aggie family suffered a terrible tragedy when Bonfire fell. In the aftermath we received many a thoughtful gesture and a multitude of prayers from all over the country. However, none was more poignant than the actions of the Longhorn family during those days that followed the fall. While we are always rivals on the playing field, I have always considered us brothers off of it and it was nice to know that "The Eyes of Texas Were Upon Us."
I was at the football game the day after Thanksgiving and have so many memories. I was proud of my teams fight, their grit and ultimately their win, yet I was equally proud to be standing in the same stadium with all of the fans from UT who represented themselves and their wonderful school with so much class. The Longhorn Band's tribute still brings a tear to my eye...
I know that we are supposed to "bring back the hate" but as I watch the game this week, I will be reminded of that week and the thoughts of prayers of so many Longhorns and I will smile. I will cheer for my Aggies to win the game, but win or lose I will feel fortunate to be able to share my Thanksgiving with the University of Texas as a small part of a tradition that we all love...Aggies and Longhorns on the football field.

Happy Thanksgiving
