Thank You Texas Fans

I just got back to S. Florida tonight from Texas. I wanted to come on here and say thank you to all of you fans. While there's always a few bad apples in every crowd of 98,000 + fans there last night I never met a better group of fans from any sport on any team before in my life.

Not only did you welcome us with open arms, but you gave us props for wearing our FAU jerseys around your tailgates, you invited us into your tailgates for beers and food. You took pictures with us.

When one of our players went down with injury the entire stadium fell dead silent and threw up their horn symbol with their hands.. TRUE CLASS Texas fans very classy and we appreciate that!

We are a young program and although we got our butts handed to us we did learn a lot.

I also want to apologize for the late hits. That is NOT how we play football and I think it was disgusting to hit McCoy out of bounds.

I have a new found respect for UT and I will continue to root for you guys and hope you can win the national championship and kick OU's ***!

Good Luck the rest of the way, Owl Nation is behind you 100%

Yet another nice post from a nice fan of a classy program. I am pretty sure and hope that I echo that of most of our fans in our wishes to you for a great season ahead. That is a salty team you have with lots of upside and potential. As I mentioned in a previous post I hope a few more of your games are on TV so that I have a chance to watch your team develop and play.

I hope for an injury free season, utter domination in your conference and a great bowl game with a victory. As to any bad eggs in our fanbase, they were likely aggy fans in disguise or sooners not having to deliver their pizzas.

Thank you for the well wishes. As far as televised games pretty sure the Michigan State game will be on TV and the Minnesota game will be on TV I think the big 12 network if I'm not mistaken. We also have 2 games on ESPN against conference opponents Middle Tennessee State University and Troy.

I hope that 1 day UT and all of your fans came come into our brand new stadium and we can treat you guys with the same respect we got.

Even the security guards at the airport were so nice to us and wished us luck.

By the way not only is your campus amazing but your stadium is one of the nicest things I have ever seen!

Good Luck this season and I hope to see you guys win yet ANOTHER championship

I was pretty impressed with FAU's kids. They didn't back down and are pretty damned close to "ornery ********".

My Mom almost moved to Boca. If she had, I would have moved in with her while I went to grad school there. One thing for sure though... I would be about 100 pounds heavier from all the awesome Jewish sandwich shops and eateries. Maltza ball soup is amazing.

Beautiful town, nice campus, pretty students, great academics, and a decent football team. Aggy, if weened off their maroon kool aid slowly so as to not induce anaphylactic shock or whatever, would kill to have what yall have.... football team included.

Thanks for the well wishes guys! Rusty is great he did all he could against your team. The WR's had some good catches. I wish we could have at least showed up for the game made it somewhat respectable. We should have a cupcake game this week when we play UAB hopefully the team can get their confidence back and then we play Michigan State at Michigan State and we all know that there's not nearly as much talent at MSU as there is in Texas.

Not sure of his name but #98 on your Defense... is he on any kind of award watch list or anything? He was ALL over the field, anytime there was a play there he was, the kid is a BEAST!

This post is a prime example of why I am proud to be a Longhorn.

I try to explain to fans in the Northeast that being a great sports fan does not involve "defending your turf" by intimidating opposing fans. Nor does it involve pelting the opposing safeties with batteries or snowballs.

I'm glad you had a positive experience in Austin, and hope you spread the good word!!!

P.S. I may be the only one, but I wish we treated OU and aTm fans this well too. I want the 'Horns beat the crap out of them on the field, but I don't understand the concept of taking it out on their fans.

Jab -
I enjoyed the brief smack exchange on your Ow's Nest fan site last week. My comments were intended to be good natured, and I'm glad that most of your fans took them that way.

Also thanks to you for your help in finding a place to watch the game in the Orlando Area.

There was another Texas fan on the FAU fan site last week, and his comments were extremely venomous and mean spirited. I don't think I've seen him on Hornfans, but I think he may be a regular over on Orangebloods. I'm glad you came to Austin, and were able to see that he was an exception.

That D-Bag would not make it here and has likely tried. I think he forgot his meds or is an aggy in disguise. One thing for sure is I wish he would find a new team to "suport". He was so out of line that I am pretty sure that the FAU fans know we don't claim him as a fan of the Longhorns.

Classy post Jab and good luck the rest of the year. I am glad our fans were good to you. here at Texas we treat most like that and I am glad you got to experience Texas football.

Although I hated him during the game, #56 on the D is a player and if they can harness his emotions he can be REALLY good. Of course, your QB was lights out. very good.

Good luck against the other Brown brother this weekend.
