Thank You Nebraska

I despise Nebraska like everyone else. But, the way I see it, they just did us a huge favor.

We didn't want to be #1. That's the kiss of death.

We needed a wake up call. We got it.

We need to be humble. Now Barnes has the leverage he needs to continue to coach 'em up.

We played poorly and shot terrible. And, we still almost won the game.

Little do the Huskers know but they just did their hated arch rival a huge favor.

The Horns have no reason to thank Nebraska with the way they played for most of the 2nd half. I see no silver lining to the loss.

WTF did John Wooden know? He just got lucky a few (10) times.

I'm just glad to get any win against Texas - that's how I see it.

I'm a big believer that in basketball sometimes you have to lose to get better. This might be that kind of game for Texas.

Hats off to how Texas played down the stretch, I'm just glad to get the win. GBR

I am not convinced that Barnes coached this game differently for a reason. Granted, I'm not BB genius but, did anyone else find it odd that both Gary Johnson and Dogus Balbay were played very sparingly in the first half? The two starting seniors played less than half of the first 20 minutes.

Barnes realizes that going undefeated in conference is not the goal and, with most of the ESPN pundants gushing about his team perhaps he needed to shake things up a bit and bring them back down to earth.

I really think he believes that this team has a realistic chance to cut down the nets in April. Perhaps he has a master plan...

I noticed this and wondered especially why Johnson was not in the game. His jump shot, defense and rebouding were sorely missed. He has been very consistent shooting the 12-15 jumper the last few games. And we really needed that against the defense NU was playing.

The OP is dead-on. Nebraska deserved the win, and they did both our programs a favor today. What we almost accomplished down by 11 with 2:30 in a hostile environment was mind-blowing. Almost as awesome is how bad we played the rest of the game. Great teams have bad days. Mack Brown says it every year. The national champion in football almost always has to overcome a piss poor outing during the season and be very lucky. When you play 30+ games this usually happens more than once. How many conference games did we win by 9+...ALL. And we lost one by 3 points. You ever have a bad day where nothing goes right? Ofcourse not, most here are perfect. lol The lessons learned from this loss will be very valuable for the tourney. Much moreso than another blowout. Just watch the next game and cheer on when we bury the next victim and continue being one of the best teams in the country. And for those who moved to the ledge with negativity as usual, do us a favor and jump now.

if we beat ksu and baylor then i will be glad that we lost to give us a kick in the pants. otherwise, we just are letting the talk go to our heads of how great a team we are, etc.
