The bowl wins were a blast, as was the ND win. I hope you learn from this experience and land on your feet. Hook ‘em

In my time as a Texas fan I have honestly wished every coach well after they left Texas from Akers to Mackovick through Charlie but none of them pulled what tommy terrific did with the EoT and frankly he is now gone for off the field stuff not the wins and losses so you will have to forgive me if I cant find any goodwill for that putz as he leaves.
While Charlie didn't leave a baked cake as he claimed he did, he inherited a pile of rotten eggs, spoiled milk and moldy flour to try to work with. The MB apologists don't mention that Charlie didn't have enough o-linemen to field a starting unit and had to convert a d-linemen just to field a unit.He doesn't read "OrangeFans", so he won't see this.
He's leaving the program in better shape than he found it, which wasn't that difficult after Charlie Strong. A better coach can pick things up and move them forward. We shall see.

Great post. Not everybody gets it right the first time. We're exchanging a coach who is just now learning this lesson for a coach we are banking has learned this lesson. I'm wishing luck to the both of them.
What I would wish for Herman is that he grows up, dumps the arrogance and the “I’m smarter than you” attitude, and that he realizes what he did to the program in the summer was unacceptable. Not everybody gets it right the first time. I really wanted him to be the one.
He wasn't.
I hope he can be for someplace else.
And the one win against TCU. Of course, that was after to losing to Maryland. 3 wins in 4 years to look back on. Yeah, thanks for nothing. Thanks, coach! I enjoyed the OU win in 18 and the 19 Sugar Bowl immensely. Best of luck to you at your next HC job.
He could go the Todd Graham route and end up at Hawaii (far off the beaten path).I don't wish him any ill will at the moment. A man getting fired can't be a good feeling, even though he did it to himself. I'll reserve judgement on how I feel about his future. Because he has displayed such arrogance over the years he was here, I won't be surprised if he becomes bitter about UT, and expresses it publicly. He might be subtle, but we'll know. I'm just not sure he owns enough humility to grow from this.
When it comes to Texas football, this past decade has made me a "show me" guy, instead of talking about "we're back" guy. I need to see Herman grow up before I develop any warm fuzzies towards him.
