Thank You All

A little less than a year ago my father came on here looking for advice as to what I should do to get into the University of Texas. It was here that we were told to look into the CAP program that Texas has to offer for High School students who don't meet the requirements to be accepted directly out of High School. Since then I've far exceeded the requirements that the CAP program has given me, and I am now one semester closer to becoming an official student of one of our nations premier Universities. It has been a life long dream of mine to attend THE University, and without ya'lls advice I doubt I would have this terrific opportunity in front of me. I feel as if some on this board deserve at least some of the credit, so thank you all. God bless and Hook'em Horns!

Best of luck to you. Not sure what CAPS is.

I was a Provisional Student. (not sure they have that now) I've heard it's at UTSA now - despite some of UT's nastiest, meanest professors and **** they pulled, I graduated. Wasn't that hard either.Just dealing some really nasty folks and red tape was the key.

Keep up the good work.

Keep it up. It's well worth it.

And if you happen to use it in an English paper, remember that the apostrophe comes one letter earlier in y'all.

I tend to proof read my papers, not my posts

. Coordinated Admission Program (CAP). If you do not get accepted into UT out of High School, you can accept the CAP program. You go to a sister school (UTSA, UTPB, etc. etc.), and if you maintain a 3.2 GPA with the classes they require you to take, you're an automatic acceptance for the next year. Minimum of 30 hours, or 15 hours a semester, as well.

ok, looks like CAPS is the new provisonal deal.

Makes sense they make you go to a another school. When I did it in the summer it seemed like every prof was out to fail everyone. How dare we set foot on the 40 acres? Nice guys.

Screw them, I slept threw UT and graduated (obviously not a great school). Don't sell yourself short and keep going. Just know that others waltz'd in to UT with less credentials. That should get your fire going.
