NCAA champion, multiple Olympic gold medalist, world-record holder, and Longhorn great Aaron Peirsol has retired from competitive swimming.

Our swimming program is the best athletic program on campus and the source of pride for many Longhorns. Thanks, Aaron, for being such a great representative of our school and our country.

What grace and style, both in the pool and out of the pool. Always fun to watch. A bit sad that this got a bit lost amid the hubbub of Ian Thorpe returning. Aaron will be missed.
