Texas vs.Texas St. Basketball Game

This team is very much improved from last game, and even more so from last year. I liked the press, I think it kept the girls very engaged in the game and didnt allow us to fall into our usual second half slump. Nneka is an All American this year hands down if she stays healthy and continues to play that way. Not sure anyone short of Uconn has a better 4-5 combo than we do. If the team plays that way, we will finish much better than 5th in the league. And make no mistake about it, Tx State has legit D-1 Talent. Peoples and Jeffcoat could play at a lot of other schools. I think we're headed in the right direction and will only get better...

Oh and how could I forget to mention Rodrigo, she was absolutely amazing last night. If she can play that way consistently, I look for her to be the starter come conference play. Shows how committed she was to her offensive game over the summer and the work that KA and staff were able to put in with her. I enjoy watching these players grow.

I was very impressed with several player's last night. The Coaching Staff is doing a good job with the Ladies.

Last year's frosh have taken a big step up in their soph year so far. Nneka was a monster on the boards against Tx State. She was outjumping everyone, including her teammates in grabbing those rebounds. She also figured out for this game how to play physical without fouling out. The team continued to show improved offensive flow, much more confident shooters and depth. It was great to see Celina shoot so well, especially from BTA where she had so much trouble last season. I was very impressed with Kelsey's play on both ends. She's very smooth on the offensive end and plays under control.

New Mexico is another step up on the level of difficulty. Horns will be going to a difficult place at the Pit. New Mexico pushed Tx Tech to the end of the game before losing 64-56 in Lubbock.

So far, it has been very exciting to watch the team play. I just wish more people were coming to watch them in person. Hopefully, Stanford will bring out a crowd.
